HVAC Tips from Our Founder

  • Clean or replace your filters monthly

  • Keep return grille and supply registers clear of furniture, draperies, clothing, toys, etc. to ensure proper air flow

  • To save on energy costs, set your thermostat to the coolest setting you are comfortable with in the Winter, and the warmest setting you are comfortable with in the Summer

  • Have a professional inspect your duct system to make sure it is safe and has the proper amount of insulation

  • If you are having a heating or cooling problem, you should check the following before calling for service: tripped circuit breakers, blown fuses, or clogged filters

  • Never try to repair your heating & cooling system yourself. You could further damage your system, not to mention risk of electrocution, burn or other serious injury to yourself

  • Have your system serviced by a professional to ensure it is running at its peak performance

  • If your system is 10 years old or more, you may consider upgrading to a new, more efficient system to save you money on energy costs

  • If you are having your system serviced or having a new system installed, it is in your best interest to request a copy of the following documents:

    • Liability Insurance

    • Workers Compensation Insurance

    • State Contractors Licenses

    • City & County Business Licenses

  • You may also request references from the company. Ask your friends, family, neighbors and anyone else you may trust for their opinion

  • Make sure hedges, shrubs, etc., are trimmed away from your outdoor unit to ensure it has proper airflow and to allow room for your service technician to work
